- Perform routine maintenance on engines, electrical systems, and other critical components.
- Utilize power tools and equipment to carry out repairs and installations.
- Fabricate parts as needed using sheet metal and other materials.
- Conduct inspections and tests using tools such as calipers and ohmmeters to ensure proper functioning of systems.
- Assist with heavy lifting of equipment and parts during repairs or installations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards.
- Document all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed on vessels.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Familiarity with electrical systems in marine applications is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job.
- Experience with soldering and fabricating components is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to marine repair work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
