The RoleWe are looking for Course Designers who will be the learning experience and instructional design masterminds helping power our current+future learning and development solutions. This role will focus on building AI-powered, soft skills courses to grow our learning solutions portfolio that can be found here. We are looking for someone with an expertise in and passion for instructional design to drive the democratization of soft skills development for employees. This role goes beyond our typical focus on software engineering and rather focuses on supporting learners to acquire and grow soft skills applicable in any job such as collaborating with others, communication & active listening, leadership & people management, managing conflict, adapting to change, and hundreds more.

Day-to-Day

  • Design AI-powered, interactive and hands-on simulation learning experiences that support the scaling of soft skills development for employees at every level of an organization.
  • Create soft skills courses that meet the company's standards for quality, accuracy, and alignment with learning objectives.
  • Build practice-first learning role-plays that empower experiential learning supported by AI-tutor feedback.
  • Collaborate with course review analysts to improve course structure, clarity, and overall effectiveness.
  • Identify and incorporate proven soft skills techniques and methodologies to embed within learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to define targeted learning outcomes and required skillsets for roles in areas such as management, sales, finance, etc.
  • Manage deliverable deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity to achieve course development targets.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, learning design, or similar field.
  • Excels in execution, establishing priorities and meeting swift deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience using course authoring technologies to create digital learning experiences.
  • Knowledge of learning science and instructional design principles.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: 1 to 3 years’ experience in designing digital learning experiences for adult learners.

The SalaryIn accordance with local regulations in jurisdictions where CodeSignal may hire, we are projecting an annual base salary in the range of USD$38K-$95K. This range is based on San Francisco benchmarks and encompasses all seniority levels eligible for this position. Offer packages often contain additional compensation in the form of commission or performance bonuses, equity, and/or benefits. Offers are awarded on an individual basis and are subject to factors such as, without limitation, a candidate’s level of experience, growth trajectory, and local labor market. Employees' compensation is reviewed and adjusted regularly.
