About the position
The City of Park City, Kansas is seeking a dedicated and certified law enforcement professional to join our team as a Detective. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $31.33 to $45.00 per hour, along with a generous hiring incentive of $10,000 for certified officers. As a Detective, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our vibrant community, which is currently experiencing significant growth. Your responsibilities will include gathering information, securing evidence, documenting crime scenes, and conducting thorough investigations into criminal offenses. You will also be tasked with interviewing suspects, victims, witnesses, and others involved in these cases. In addition to standard investigative duties, the Detective will conduct special investigations related to vice and narcotic violations, perform pre-employment background checks, prepare cases for court, and testify as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to evaluate situations and individuals effectively. You will need to be organized, capable of managing multiple projects, and skilled in gathering and analyzing information logically. To qualify for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with some college credit or a technical degree in a related field preferred. A Kansas Law Enforcement Certification and a valid Kansas Driver's License are required. Candidates must also be U.S. citizens, at least 21 years old, and able to pass an extensive background investigation, polygraph, medical exam, and drug screening. We are looking for individuals with at least three years of similar or related experience, although this is preferred rather than mandatory.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or some college credit in a related field preferred.
