Self-Determination Instructor - $17.48 - $18.53 / hour Id-2008

The Self-Determination Instructor will provide training and support for the Self-Determination in Action program. The Self-Determination Instructor is a self-advocate who will provide training to individuals with disabilities, including autism, on topics of individual rights, self-advocacy and self-determination.

Essential Functions

Position Competencies

  • Able to understand and communicate information to program trainees and other individuals related to the training program.
  • Able to deliver trainings to a diverse group of trainees. Delivers presentations in front of groups and able to effectively engage with groups.
  • Able to apply and communicate lived experiences as it relates to self-determination and self-advocacy.
  • Basic technology skills. Able to utilize Microsoft Office products including Outlook and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a self-advocate and have experience with advocacy and presenting information.

Additional Requirements

  • This part-time position primarily works weekday daytime hours with occasional evening and weekend hours as required.
  • Must be able to arrange and access own transportation to and from work. Will need to be able to coordinate some travel between training venues.
