What You’ll Be Doing

The Supply Chain Quality Engineer / Analyst is responsible for sourcing, vetting, onboarding, and maintaining the quality of procured goods within the operations and engineering departments. This role will oversee and optimize various components of the supply chain, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency from product conception to delivery. Primary focus is on managing supplier adherence to our Quality Management System while also ensuring the sourcing, logistics, and distribution of purchased goods are cost-effective and streamlined to support the overall success and growth of the company.

  • Develop and implement supplier selection and part qualification processes through supplier assessment audits and adherence to specifications.
  • Identify and engage reliable suppliers, effectively negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships to secure optimal terms and pricing.
  • Conduct in-depth Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis and cost comparisons to optimize supply chain and logistics costs.
  • Collaborate with Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers to ensure compliance with internal Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Streamline processes for order processing, procurement, and demand fulfillment to increase productivity and meet customer (internal/external) expectations.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of current supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities to reduce overall costs.
  • Manage in-house inventory levels to effectively limit the number of days on hand.
  • Lead root cause investigations of supplier quality issues, drive containment, issue Corrective Actions, and own follow-up / closure of issues.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with teams including engineering, operations, finance, etc., to develop supply chain project plans for new product launches ensuring alignment among different functions throughout the supply chain process.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor's degree in a supply chain or engineering related field and/or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience with supplier quality, BOM analysis, engineering prints, or electrical components a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • APICs certification and/or Lean experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of ISO bodies' standards, quality procedures, and audit techniques preferred but not required.
  • Ability to analyze problems and identify root causes.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office with significant experience in Microsoft Excel.
