Remote Certified Medical Assistant for Busy Internal Medicine Office

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our remote healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist healthcare providers in patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations and excellent patient service over the phone.

Remote Certified Medical Assistant Responsibilities

  • Operate a multi-line phone system (includes medication refill line) to answer incoming calls and retrieve voice mail messages
  • Ability to respond to inquiries, direct callers to the appropriate staff member or initiate a clear and precise message for response by medical personnel
  • Schedule appointments within EMR system for patients in accordance with establishment procedures
  • Assist with medication refills per policies and procedures
  • Maintain privacy while utilizing electronic health records (EHR) and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications, when necessary
  • Call patients with test results from providers
  • Fax forms from within EHR
  • Sort of documents from fax server
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide information over the phone
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Adhere to practice policies and patient safety protocols

  • Oral communication-speaks clearly and in a positive manner. Listens and gets clear clarification; responds well to questions.

Remote Certified Medical Assistant Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (minimum 2 years)
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and EHR systems
  • 2 year's experience in primary care, internal medicine or other medical office setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
