Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                                   

Moon Valley Nurseries ("MVN") is looking for an Inventory/Merchandising Specialist to guide and oversee overall inventory controls and ensure that merchandise is ready for sale as it leaves the farm.  The Inventory/Merchandising Specialist will work under the direction of MVN managers to ensure all merchandising is done in accordance with MVN standards and guidelines.

  • At least one year of inventory control or comparable retail experience strongly desired
  • Basic proficiency in using computer software applications.
  • Attention to detail with a passion for working with numbers.
  • Ability to engender trust and earn respect with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem solving.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to accomplish goals.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications; OpSuite; Microsoft RMS, and other inventory control software.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands; establish and execute priorities; and meet deadlines.
  • Clear and effective communication and documentation skills

 

Education                                                                                                                                                                                          

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Related experience, training or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience will be considered.

 

 Physical requirements/Working Conditions                                                                                                                

This role routinely uses standard office and sales equipment such as computers, calculators, and barcode readers, working in a combination of a basic office environment and an outdoor nursery.  The position is active and may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.  The employee must be able to use stairs and frequently reach for, pull, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. intermittently.  The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
