Job description

Kansas Joint & Spine Specialists, LLC is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant who will be responsible for acting as an extension of the physicians, providing patient care in collaboration with and under the general supervision of the physicians.

Job duties and responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with surgeon in managing acute and long-term medical needs of pati
ent.

2. Carry out physician orders.

3. Assist surgeon in surgery.

4. Order appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures.

5. Ability to interpret diagnostic tests for deviations from normal

6. Educate patients on their diagnosis and explain treatment options

7. Jointly care for patients in clinic.

8. Obtain, compile, and record patient medical data.

9. Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, suturing and wound care, and infection management.

10. Prescribe therapy or medication within the scope of practice.

11. Participate in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

12. Will participate in quality improvement and waste reduction activities per practice initiatives. These activities should include but not be limited to: data collection, data analysis, formation of forms, distribution of data collections/forms and training.

13. Other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:

1. Current license

2. Maintenance of appropriate level of CEUs to comply with state licensing requirements.

3. Previous medical clinic experience preferred.

4. Ability to handle multiple tasks.

5. Basic medical terminology.

6. Basic knowledge of anatomy.

7. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

8. Ability to lift 50lbs. (single lift).

9. Ability to lift 100lbs. (with assistance).

10. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

11. Ability to react calmly in an emergency situation.

12. Must possess excellent communication skills.

Minimum qualifications:

1. Previous medical clinic experience preferred.

2. Good interpersonal skills.

3. Must be detail oriented.

4. Able to handle stress during busy clinic times.

5. Ability to be prompt and flexible with daily schedule.

6. Must have ability to work independently.
