Job Summary



Scottsdale Community College is hiring a Theatre Technician to support the PAC (Part-Time).

This position will support the Technical needs of the School of film + Theatre as part of a team of technicians, including scenery, lighting , sound, costumes, etc.

This is a Student Worker position, candidates must have the intent to be a Scottsdale Community College student for 6 or more credit hours in the in the Spring 2025 semester.

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus.

Essential Functions


  • Support all users of the PAC
  • Support the technical needs for the School of Film + Theatre
  • Build scenery
  • Hang and focus stage lighting
  • Maintain storage, shop and stage spaces
  • Maintain stock of property, costumes, scenery, lighting, and audio
  • Run events in the PAC and amphitheater

Minimum Qualifications



High School Diploma or GED

AND

This is a Student Worker position, candidates must have the intent to be a Scottsdale Community College student for 6 or more credit hours in the in the Spring 2025 semester.

Desired Qualifications



Experience with technical theatre and film work

Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, Internet searching and email

Experience providing customer service to a diverse community

Ability to communicate effectively and courteously via in-person, telephone, email, and/or chat with customers, students, and colleagues

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality

Ability to spot and resolve issues proactively

Knowledge of commonly-used office technology (printers, scanners, phones, etc.)
