About the role

As Principal Product Manager - Personalization, your objective is to connect our fans to the rich world of anime. You will also help define strategies and a roadmap for algorithmic discovery, personalization, and search. Your object is to increase discovery and engagement across our apps and products, connecting our fans to stories, games, merchandise, and more.

  • Personalization Strategy: help lead the development of a comprehensive personalization and recommendation strategy to increase discovery and engagement.
  • Search Development: help enhance our search through the application of machine learning, empowering our users to find and discover relevant stories, games, news, and merchandise.
  • Artificial Intelligence: assist in the exploration of emerging tools and methodologies for employing AI to solve customer and company needs.
  • Content & User Understanding: employ methods and practices, in collaboration with data science teams, to build a rich and actionable profile of our users and content.
  • Engagement KPIs: Analyze and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring that our decisions are shaped by meaningful data and drive material results.
  • Collaboration: Work with other product leaders as well as engineering, data science, programming, marketing, legal, and compliance teams to ensure that we develop high quality, high trust products.

You will report to the Director of Product - Personalization & Curation.

We are considering applicants for the location(s) of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas.

About You

  • Experienced Product Innovator: 12+ years in product management and 5+ years of experience working in content personalization.
  • Established Practitioner: demonstrable experience overseeing and deploying personalization and recommendation systems, as well as search algorithms.
  • Trusted Collaborator: in this role, you’ll partner closely with a variety of teams across the company. You’ll need the ability to build deep and trusted relationships with these teams and work together in service of key shared strategic priorities. 
  • Strategic Thinker: You’ll need to understand the landscape in which we’re operating and make frequent tradeoffs and decisions around where to invest time and resources.
  • Skilled Communicator: You’ll communicate your strategy and plans to executive audiences and to the company more broadly, and need the ability to communicate clearly and convincingly with a wide range of audiences. 
  • Outcomes Driven: Ultimately, you’ll need to produce significant, measurable results against our KPIs and company Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
