Payroll Administrator (Remote) Id-1970

The Payroll Administrator will assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees using Workday and helping to ensure that the payroll process is in compliance with company policies, government regulations and reporting requirements. This role is ideal for someone looking to start their career in payroll and people resources. The ideal candidate will be organized, reliable, eager to learn and great communication skills. The Payroll Administrator will report to the Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Time and Attendance: Support the attendance policy regarding attendance awards or infractions using either point-free or not point-free time.
  • Payroll Assistance: Support the Payroll team in processing bi-weekly payroll for all employees using Workday.
  • Data Validation: Ensure accurately entered payroll-related data, including FMLA and employee time and attendance records, which include PTO and voluntary time-off.
  • Reporting: Help generate and review payroll reports for accuracy. Assist in the preparation of payroll-related reports.
  • Employee Support: Respond to basic employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, time and attendance, and related concerns.
  • Issue Resolution: Assist in addressing and resolving payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Compliance Support: Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • System Maintenance: Help ensure the Workday payroll system is functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of clerical experience, preferably in a payroll or HR environment. Experience with Workday is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of payroll principles and practices. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skills: Proficiency in data entry and basic Excel skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with managers/employees at all levels with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Learning Attitude: Willingness to learn and develop skills in payroll and HR functions.
