NDT Level II Examiner - MTI Id-3233
Job Description
Perform visual, magnetic particle and dye penetrant examinations in accordance with written procedures. Testing and inspection of products will be performed at various stages of the production process in compliance with applicable codes, standards, or other specified requirements. Places safety and environmental issues as a priority at all times. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand, comply and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
- Responsible for following housekeeping and 5-S initiatives in the quality department.
- Shall have a practical knowledge of all production processes.
- Candidate must be knowledgeable with applicable industry standards specifications and procedures.
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams and confers with management to employ appropriate quality codes and standards.
- Selects products for test at specific stages in the production process, and test products for a variety of qualities including dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
- Record test data, applying statistical methods as appropriate.
- Evaluate data and complete reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Must have ASNT Level II certification in VT and MT or
- 210 hours of OJT signed off and documented in VT and
- 280 hours of OJT signed off and documented in MT and
- 24 hours of classroom in VT signed off by a Level III and
- 20 hours of classroom in MT signed off by a Level III and
Must pass with an 80% or better the Level II test in the following:
- General exam
- Specific exam
- Practical exam
- Must be able to read blueprints and interrupt requirements
- Shall have sufficient practical background in applicable materials, fabrication, and product technology to establish techniques and to assist in establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available.
- NAVSEA experience is a plus.
Compensation
- Bonus $2,500.00 upon hire if candidates have both valid ASNT Level II certifications in VT and MT or at the time of completion of the alternative qualification requirements listed above.
- Bonus $2,500.00 after passing a successful satisfactory 90-day review with no disciplinary write ups and with good attendance measured by company guidelines.
- NDT Level II starting rate is $37.50 per hour.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; one to three years related experience preferred.
