Hulu Business Affairs negotiates deals and drafts agreements for above-the-line talent (producers, writers, directors, actors and casting directors), underlying rights, and marketing for scripted streaming programming and broadcast programming at ABC Entertainment. The Department also provides support for other departments within the company (e.g. development, production, finance, legal, marketing), and ancillary activities.
This internship is a full-time commitment in the Los Angeles, CA area from June 2, 2025 to January 2, 2026.
A Day in the Life…
As an intern, you’ll be involved in a variety of exciting projects that will challenge and develop your skillsets. Projects/work to include drafting deal memos and short form agreements along with playing the role of an information hub by distributing negotiation updates, closed deals, and signed agreements between different departments.
What we are looking for…
We’re seeking highly motivated individuals with a genuine interest in entertainment law, negotiation theory, and the television business. While prior experience in media/entertainment is a plus, it’s not a deal-breaker. Here are the basic qualifications we’re looking for:
- A strong interest in entertainment law, the television business, and/or negotiation theory/strategy (relevant coursework is a bonus)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a must and familiarity with OneNote is highly desirable
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure
- A detailed-oriented approach, even when processing a large volume of documents
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Shown ability to take initiative and balance multiple projects
- Collaborative teammate who can also work independently
- Demonstrate a high degree of discretion in regard to sensitive and/or confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in the entertainment industry, and basic knowledge of copyright law.
Required Education
- Completion of one or more years of law school in a current JD program at the start of the internship.
Preferred Education
- Preference shown for students who are in at least the second year of their degree program.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a graduate degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
- Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm PST for 40 hours each week for the duration of the Summer, and part-time during Fall.
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Los Angeles, CA area.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
The pay rate for this role in California is $41.40 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
