What You'll Do

RVO Health publishes daily news content on Healthline and Medical News Today. Our news focusses on all areas of chronic health conditions, nutrition, new treatments, medications, and trending wellness topics.

In this role, you will fact-check forthcoming news content to ensure that it meets our editorial standards. All editing and review work will take place within our WordPress CMS.

This is a freelance roll, paid hourly. Most news assignments are 800-1000 words and require about an hour of fact checking. Freelance fact-checkers may invoice in 30-minute increments.

This is a flexible role, and workloads can vary based on an individual's availability.

We have teams based in the UK and across the US, and we publish across multiple timezones, five days a week.

What We're Looking For

  • Credentialed doctors, nurses, pharmacists, clinicians, or researchers (MD, PhD, PharmD, RN, RD, or similar)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, with a critical-thinking and problem-solving mindset
  • Experience writing or editing for publication
  • Knowledge of basic editorial and journalistic best practices.
  • Experience with WordPress or web publishing tools preferred, but not required.

At Healthline, we're committed to providing our audience with trustworthy, accessible, and accurate information so they're equipped to care for your health and wellness. We use an established Editorial Process to ensure we're giving you the best possible information.

Our Editorial Process was developed by the Healthline team. It's the backbone of everything we do. But what is this process? How do we ensure that everything we publish meets our standards?

Our team creates and edits every piece of content based on the 4 pillars of our editorial process. These pillars — (1) earning and maintaining trust; (2) keeping high journalistic standards; (3) prioritizing accuracy, empathy, and inclusion; and (4) continual monitoring and updating of content — ensure that you can always find the timely, evidence-based information you need.

Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation for this role at the company.
