Nursing Assistant Training Program - Theory Instructor (Online Remote)

Hiring Instructors for Full Time/ Part Time/ Weekends - This is a Cohort based assignment.

Must have an active, unencumbered LVN/RN License in the State of California. Two years of nursing experience, with one year in skilled nursing or long-term care. Note: California is not a compact state for licensing.

SisuCare is seeking multiple CNA Theory Instructors to join our assignment-based nursing faculty to teach CNA Theory live online. In this role, you will have the opportunity to teach and train aspiring CNAs using our innovative tech-enabled "hybrid learning" program.

As a Theory Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching the course curriculum live online, setting student expectations, and building knowledge and clinical skills aimed at assisting students to obtain nursing assistant certification. You will also be responsible for evaluating and documenting students' progress and maintaining accurate records.

To qualify for this role, you must have at least two years of nursing experience (LVN or RN) and one year of verifiable experience as a licensed nurse providing care and services to patients with in a skilled nursing or long term care organization. You must also possess excellent organizational skills, be skilled in teaching adult learners, and have strong interpersonal skills.

Technology and Private space requirements: Instructors must have access to a laptop or PC and high speed internet access. Classes are live, online so a private or quite workspace is needed.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Teach the course curriculum as outlined in the approved NATP
  • Set student expectations and communicate clearly with students
  • Apply knowledge of the fundamentals of the nursing process, the standards of care, and sound decision making and judgement in educational activities involving all levels of patient care within the nurse aide training program.
  • Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care
  • Make learning engaging for students, including facilitating class discussions and skills instruction. Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting students to obtain nursing assistant certification
  • Ensure students are keeping up with curriculum and mastering assignments
  • Evaluate and document students’ progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained
  • Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to attendance records, schedules, course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content and exam pass rates
  • Utilize technology (learning management system) to manage the class and student progress
  • Assist students in resolving technical issues
  • Build rapport and communicate effectively with students, those affiliated with the course, including staff at clinical training facilities, SisuCare faculty, and prospective employers
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Program Director

Required Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of nursing experience (LVN or RN)
  • One (1) year verifiable experience as a licensed nurse providing care and services in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
