Job Duties Include:

  • Administering medications and treatments to students as prescribed by their physicians
  • Managing students' chronic health conditions and ensuring they are properly monitored
  • Conducting routine health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.)
  • Providing first aid and emergency care when needed
  • Developing and implementing Individual Health Plans (IHPs) for students with medical needs
  • Working closely with special education teams to address the health needs of students with disabilities
  • Maintaining and monitoring health records for students, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Offering health education to students, staff, and parents
  • Collaborating with teachers and school administrators to ensure students' health needs are met during school hours
  • Ensuring compliance with state and local health regulations
  • Providing health support during school activities, field trips, or extracurricular events
  • Assisting with any crisis management or emergency situations that arise
  • Promoting wellness and a healthy school environment

Requirements:

  • Valid RN license in good standing, as required by the state of New Hampshire
  • Experience in a school setting or working with special education students is highly preferred
  • Ability to manage and respond to student health needs in a school environment
  • In-depth knowledge of local and state regulations governing school health services
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals, parents, and school staff
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and act quickly when necessary
  • Must pass all required background checks and screenings
